What is your philosophical approach to therapy?

I am always led by the clients needs. I am goal orientated and see my role as a counsellor to ultimately become obsolete as we work together to create and achieve our counselling goals.

What should I expect from a typical session?

There is no typical session, as I attempt to cater each session to each individual client. It is also heavily influenced by that client's needs.

How long have you been a therapist?

I completed my Master of Counselling in 2017 and have be a counsellor at Long Tree Counselling since 2019.

How long have you been doing couples therapy?

Clients come to see me for a number of different reasons. I have seen both individuals and couples for relationship counselling since I started Long Tree counselling.

Do I need to provide any other information before my session?

When you make your appointment through the website, you will need to fill out my intake form with a few basic questions such as Name, Birthdate and Phone Number.

How many sessions do I need or should expect?

There are no set number of sessions that a client will need to address their needs. I work session to session, it is always up to the client if they feel that they would like to make another appointment. It all depends on how long it takes to address the client's particular needs. This varies for each client and I am here to support the client with however many sessions they need.

How do you determine our counselling goals?

I use my first session with a client to understand why they have made the first step to come and see me, what they hope to gain from counselling and as I listen to the client's needs I gather all that information, together with the clients, we set some counselling goals.

How do you gauge our progress?

Accepted Answer

During the first session as we set our counselling goals, I let those goals guide our progress. I am also very interested in how the client feels counselling is going for them and make the necessary changes to our sessions if needed.

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

If, for some reason, you need to cancel or postpone an appointment, please give me at least 24 hours notice, otherwise you will be charged the administration fee of $60.
