Feeling Anxious or Depressed?

Feeling anxious or depressed can be incredibly isolating. You may find yourself constantly worrying, overthinking, or feeling on edge, even when there’s no clear reason why. Others experience a persistent low mood, loss of motivation, or a sense of heaviness that makes everyday tasks feel harder than they used to.
For many people, anxiety and depression don’t always look obvious from the outside. You might still be showing up to work, caring for others, and meeting expectations, while inside feeling exhausted, disconnected, or overwhelmed.

Anxiety can show up as racing thoughts, restlessness, difficulty sleeping, muscle tension, or a sense of dread.
Depression may involve low mood, fatigue, withdrawal from others, or losing interest in things you once enjoyed.
These experiences can ebb and flow, making it hard to know whether what you’re feeling is “serious enough” to seek help.
You don’t need a diagnosis or a clear label to reach out for support. If something feels off, that’s reason enough.

Counselling provides a non-judgemental space to talk openly about what you’re experiencing. It’s not about being told to “think positively” or push your feelings aside. Instead, counselling supports you to understand your emotional experience, recognise patterns, and develop coping strategies that feel realistic and supportive.
At Long Tree Counselling, sessions are paced gently and guided by what feels most helpful for you. Together, we can explore what’s contributing to feelings of anxiety or low mood, how these feelings are affecting your life, and what might help you feel more steady and supported.
Counselling may help you:
Feel less alone with anxious or depressive thoughts
Understand emotional patterns and triggers
Develop tools to manage worry, stress, or low mood
Reconnect with a sense of balance and hope
If you’re feeling anxious or depressed, one option available to you is to book an appointment with Long Tree Counselling. Reaching out for support can be a meaningful step toward understanding what you’re experiencing and finding ways to feel more like yourself again.
Important: Long Tree Counselling is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, are at risk of harm to yourself or others, or need urgent support, please reach out immediately to a trained professional.
